As staff accountant, you are charged with the accuracy of the financial information of our company. Through your creative and innovative contributions to the accounting process, you will make your mark by being a part of the pre-eminent accounting team out of all Property Regional Operators (PRO's) at National Storage Affiliates. 

Additionally, you will have the following capabilities and skills:

Required Job Duties:

  • Provides financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports and reconciliations.
  • Consistent application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accrual accounting concepts. 
  • Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by completing and analyzing account information. 
  • Documents financial transactions by entering account information. 
  • Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
  • Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other reports. 
  • Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents. 
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures. 
  • Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information. 
  • Secures financial information by completing database backups.
  • Maintains financial security by following internal controls. 
  • Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends. 
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.

  • Previous property management experience a plus

  • Thoroughness, accuracy, and timeliness in completing essential duties. 

Work Environment: 

  • Office setting, small intimate office team


  • Bachelor's degree in tax, accounting, or finance preferable
  • Minimum 2-5 years experience in accounting/finance
  • Experience with financial reporting requirements
  • Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas

  • $60,000 - $75,000 base salary commensurate with experience.
